TREASURY EMPLOYEES RECOGNIZED FOR SERVICE
Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins Thanks Staff on State Employee Recognition Day
(TOPEKA, Kan.) - Today, Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins, CPA, publicly thanked all treasury employees for their service to the State of Kansas. A ceremony was held at the Treasurer's office on May 5, the day designated by the National Association of State Personnel Executives to recognize the outstanding work of the more than two million city, county, state and federal employees across the nation.

"State employees play an important role in the lives of Kansans and the employees of the State Treasurer's Office are no exception," Treasurer Jenkins said. "I am proud to represent this office and its extraordinary employees."

A drawing was held for several prizes donated by management for employees. The management team also provided various baked goods and snacks for the employees as an additional way to show appreciation.

Jenkins, a former State Representative and Senator from Topeka, was elected Treasurer on Nov. 5, 2002. She is a Certified Public Accountant and former small business owner. Since being sworn into office in January 2003, Jenkins has expanded investment options in Learning Quest, initiated multiple financial literacy programs, and eliminated the reliance on state general fund dollars to operate the office.
