Dear fellow Kansans:
As the Holiday Season descends upon us and we begin our annual battle with long lines, cold temperatures and sick children I wanted to take a moment and reflect over the past year, say thank you, and remind everyone about the many great things that we can be thankful for in our lives.
Growing up on the farm, I always enjoyed the holiday season because of the time spent with family and friends. It was also wonderful to see how our neighbors came together as a community to support and celebrate those around us in need. I have found as I travel throughout this state that this sentiment is not just alive in Holton, but it is a Kansas value and one that sets our state a part from the rest.
I would also like to express my appreciation for allowing me to serve as your State Treasurer. Serving as State Treasurer is a great responsibility and one that I take very seriously.
However, I also wanted to take a moment and send a special thanks to those Kansans and their families who are serving or have loved ones serving in our armed forces. These brave men and women risk their lives everyday so that you and I have the freedom to live and raise a family. Unfortunately, many Kansas' families will be celebrating this season without their loved ones due to military action around the world. Regardless of your role-on the battlefield or at home-I appreciate your hard work and please know that your Kansas family stands united behind you.
If I can ever be of assistance or you would like more information about the many programs we offer, please do not hesitate to go online at www.kansasstatetreasurer.com or email me at lynn@treasurer.state.ks.us.
It is an honor to serve as your State Treasurer. I thank you for the opportunity and for all of your help and support as I travel throughout the state. On behalf of my husband Scott, and our two children, I would like to wish you a very safe and enjoyable holiday season and I hope the New Year brings you joy and happiness.
