While Kansans and others around the nation are preparing for the upcoming tax deadline on April 15, State Treasurer Dennis McKinney wants to ensure that working families are aware of all of the resources that are available to them. Treasurer McKinney today rolled out WE Connect Kansas.
"During these particularly difficult economic times it is important to connect hard-working Kansas families with resources that can help," said McKinney.
WE Connect is an initiative based off of the California model designed to serve as an online resource where people can find out what federal programs they may qualify for. Developed by Intuit, the makers of TurboTax, the Web Connector allows Kansans to input information about themselves to find out what they can save by taking advantage of tax benefits such as the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit as well as other money saving programs.
"I am excited to offer this new tool to link Kansans with tax benefits. WE Connect Kansas will help to make state government more accessible to the people," McKinney said.
To take advantage of this exciting new tool Kansans should visit www.kansasstatetreasurer.com to find federal tax benefits for which they may be eligible.
