Message from Lynn:
Dear Friends:
How many times have you gone to sleep thinking about all the wonderful things you'd do if you found a couple thousand dollars or better yet won the lottery?! Maybe you'd buy a boat or a new car, pay off debt, or take a vacation? How about saving it for a rainy day?
If the economic stimulus package proposed by the president is passed, many Americans will soon receive a check in the mail. What will you do? The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has a few suggestions to help you responsibly use the money.
- Pay off high-rate loans such as credit card balances
- Create a budget
- Guard against get-rich-quick schemes
- If you choose to invest, speak with a financial professional to help you decide the best way to invest
- Spend wisely if you chose to indulge yourself with something you've always wanted.
February's MoneyWise covers a number of topics. I hope you find a couple helpful.
