Message from Lynn: Dear Friends: April 17 will be here before we know it and that is one deadline we know we can't miss! The IRS expects us to have made contact with them in one form or another by this day. The post office even extends the times they pick up mail so as many returns as possible can have that very important April 17 post mark. What's just as important as meeting the deadline is to make sure you are taking full advantage of deductions that will reduce the amount of taxes you owe. This month's MoneyWise offers information on everything from child and dependent tax credits to business travel deductions. Deductions and tax credits are built into the tax codes to help citizens make the most of their income and offer assistance where possible. It is always a good idea to consult a Certified Public Accountant during this time of year because even Albert Einstein said, "The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax."
